LOCATION: Mornington Peninsula

Samantha & Carter, originally from Canada, had been living in Australia for a year and a half, whilst Carter completed his studies abroad. Their love for travel and exploring new places together, led them to marrying on the cliffs of Flinders on their 9th year anniversary, March 6th 2024.

They chose to commemorate their time in Australia by eloping before heading back home to Canada in June. They have been living in Brisbane for the past year and a half, and wanted to get married in a region of Australia they hadn't yet explored.

Thus, the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria sparked their radars. They found us (Mornington Peninsula locals) and we helped them plan the elopement of their dreams.

They rented an airbnb in Rye for their week long stay, where they spent the morning of their elopement getting ready together. They helped each other into their attire and spent quality time together before going heading off to the cliffs for their intimate ceremony.

We were joined by the always incredible, Ceremonies with Haylie. Who legally wed them on the cliff of Flinders. Haylie guided them through a personalised and heartfelt ceremony, sharing their love story over the past 9 years together. They exchanged rings, read personal vows and promised a lifetime more of travel, adventures and building an incredible life together. We signed as their legal witness'.

They then headed down the cliffs to a grassy lookout spot where they celebrated with champagne, a box of their favourite donuts, and read letters they asked their family to write them for the occasion. It was a sweet moment filled with lots of emotions, laughter, and sentiments as they felt the love from their families back home present with them on their day.

Once the heartfelt moments had passed, they were ready for an adventure! They wanted to explore a few locations on their day and soak in the experience of getting married in a new place, they were yet to explore together.

Hence, we headed off to a nearby beach for them to take in the golden light, enjoy a stroll along the beach and exploring another clifftop above. They fully embraced the experience, and enjoyed the adventure. Before heading back to their airbnb with Pad Thai takeaway (their favourite) and a cosy evening enjoying each others company.

They truly made their day their own. It was non-traditional, authentic to them, and the ultimate adventure. A day we will forever be grateful to have witnessed and documented.
