Victoria is well known for its city of Melbourne, but it’s also home to some of the most incredible outdoor locations in Australia! Whilst city elopements are elegant and classy, nonetheless. We’ve all about outdoor adventure elopements around here!
In this blog post we’re going to dive into our top 6 favourite regions within Victoria. And explore the best outdoor locations around Victoria, that make the most perfect backdrop for an elopement experience!
Mornington Peninsula
First, we have the Mornington Peninsula, which also happens to be where we call home! There are so many incredible places to explore in this region – take it from the locals themselves! From coastal bush walks, to open ocean beaches, scenic cliff top views as far as the eye can see. Even secluded mediterranean style beaches, and off the beaten path pine forests too. If a coastal elopement is your jam – you’ll definitely want to consider this region for your Victoria based elopement!

- Cairns Bay, Flinders
- Bush Rangers Bay, Cape Schanck
- Gunnamatta Ocean Beach, Fingal
- Diamond Bay, Sorrento
- Jubilee Point, Sorrento
- Spray Point, Blairgowrie
- The Pines, Shoreham
Wilsons Promontory
Wilson’s Promontory National Park is one of the most pristine locations in all of Victoria. It’s just over 3 hours from Melbourne, located in South East Gippsland. A country coastal region of Victoria, making this location feel very isolated and untouched. It becomes busy in the summer months with campers, and beach go-er’s, but in the off season, you could have the entire National Park almost to yourselves!
This place is true paradise. From crystal clear turquoise waters, to mountain top scenic views, to sand dunes as far as the eye can see and home to some epic Australian wildlife. Yes, we are talking about emus! It’s as if the Whitsundays in Queensland and Honeymoon Bay in Tasmania had a baby in Victoria, that would be Wilson’s Promontory.

Grampians National Park
Our third favourite (in no particular order) is the Grampians National Park. Picture… mountains, tons of wildlife (kangaroos everywhere), Aussie bush, waterfalls, swimming holes – galore! It’s the perfect elopement location within Victoria for couples who love hiking and going on epic adventures.

High Country
Next, we have High Country. Which is a similar vibe to the Grampians but located in North East Victoria. High Country runs from Marysville through Mansfield and Bright, all the way up past Beechworth. It’s a beautiful mountainous destination with many scenic hikes, meadows, waterfalls, swimming holes, and amazing mountain top views overlooking the valleys below. It’s truly incredible, and we would 10/10 recommend this location for an adventure elopement in Victoria.
This location is also amazing for a winter elopement, if you love snow! A very popular destination amongst skiers and snowboarders. If this is you, why not include your favourite activity in your elopement experience, and elope in winter time in High Country!

Phillip Island
Phillip Island is located in South East Gippsland, just under 2 hours from Melbourne. It’s a popular location amongst tourists, but is still quite regional and very secluded in the off season. It’s popular due to it’s unique habitat of Penguins! The little blue Penguins reside on the island, and you can watch them come in from shore every evening at sunset!
But Penguins aside, this location is rugged, wild and has some of the best coastal scenery in the state! From incredible coastal bush walks, to the rugged and untouched coastlines, red rock beaches, and incredible green rolling hills. It’s where country meets coastal and it sure is the perfect destination for an adventure elopement experience within Victoria!

The Great Ocean Road
And last but not least, we have the Great Ocean Road. It’s known as being one of the most famous destinations in Victoria, and for good reason! It’s the perfect destination for an epic road trip adventure – even on your elopement day! You could rent a vintage car, and drive to all the scenic destinations (like the couple in the photos below). Or extend your honeymoon to explore the entire region for 1-2 week adventure! From the most amazing beaches and coastal views, to waterfalls and *in our opinion* the best sunsets in the state.
