In this blog post we are going to dive into the best waterfall elopement locations in Victoria, Australia for your waterfall elopement experience! Keep reading to find your perfect waterfall elopement location.
Erskine Falls
Starting with a more popular waterfall in Victoria, but for very good reason! Erskine Falls is located in Lorne, on the Great Ocean Road. It’s located in a more popular tourist region, making this waterfall the perfect option for a Great Ocean Road elopement adventure!
Although, you can find this waterfall secluded during early morning hours around sunrise, when the light is at it’s prime! Picture golden glowing hues surrounding you, as the water barrels down in the background. Or on a weekday in non-peak season (April – September) which also happens to be when the water is flowing it’s best! Both of these scenarios are absolutely the best times to elope at Erskine Falls.
Beauchamp Falls
Not too far from Erskine Falls, lays Beauchamp Falls just down the Great Ocean Road in the Great Otways National Park. A region filled with many impressive waterfalls, that we will further dive into in this blog post! This location is also a perfect spot to explore on a waterfall elopement adventure, if you want to hit up a few amazing waterfalls on your elopement day. Beauchamp Falls, is one of the best waterfalls in the Otways, as you can venture right up and underneath the falls with the most beautiful backdrop with green ferns surrounds.
Hopetoun Falls
Also located in the Great Otways National Park, is Hopetoun Falls. Equally as impressive as Beauchamp. This waterfall elopement location also allows you to venture up close for an incredible free flowing backdrop! Combining these 2 locations on your waterfall adventure elopement day, truly makes for the most scenic and might we even say – most epic experience!
Triplet Falls
If you love the feel of being surrounded by rainforest, with water flowing behind you, but you don’t want to be right in the falls. Triplet Falls offers the most amazing platform where you can marry with the falls perfectly situated in the background of your vows, without actually getting dirty!
Also located in the Otways National Park, you could further add this to your Otways waterfall adventure experience and explore all three locations!
Ladies Baths & Eurobin Falls
Located in Mount Buffalo National Park, this Waterfall elopement experience, could be the perfect pairing to a Mountain elopement experience! Ladies Baths and Eurobin Falls offers the most beautiful tranquil elopement experience. This waterfall joins the most amazing pools surrounded by gorgeous granite rocks and Aussie bush surrounds. You can venture right up close for your ceremony. Or even add this location to your Mount Buffalo adventure elopement experience, and take a dip in the pool! This location is perfect for a ceremony, or an adventurous activity on your elopement day!
You can also check out Rollasons Falls, located not too add to the waterfall hoping experience!
Mackenzie Falls
Mackenzie Falls is another popular option, but also for very good reason. It’s located in the Grampians National Park, just outside of Halls Gap. This impressive waterfall, does require some level of fitness though, as you will have to tackle the great amount of stairs up and down to reach this incredible view! Which we will happily do any day, because it’s well worth the experience to stand in front of this impressive scenery!
We also recommend visiting this location at sunrise, or during a weekday in off season. As you will beat the crowds and truly get the best experience!
Steavenson Falls
Located in Marysville in the Yarra Ranges, lies the most spectacular elopement location, Steavenson Falls. Only a short walk from the carpark, you can find yourselves promising forever underneath the plummeting water flowing into the pool beneath you. This location offers an aesthetically pleasing and dry platform viewing area, where you can hold your ceremony right up close to the falls.
Toorongo Falls
Next we have Toorongo Falls, located in Gippsland, just south of the Yarra Valley. This waterfall is an absolutely incredible location for an elopement experience in Victoria. The most incredible part about this waterfall elopement location, is you can venture along the river and get right up close with the falls. This spot also has an amazing viewing platform where you are truly as close as you can get to the falls, you can practically touch them! (well not quite – but it’s a great place for an epic photo!)
